Come to Basel

By Plane

Travelling to Basel is fast and easy thanks to EuroAirport, which is located just 15 minutes from the city centre. It offers 500 scheduled and charter flights every week and more than 60 destinations to guarantee you a convenient arrival.

EuroAirport is located in France, in the tri-national Upper Rhine Region, i.e. very near to Switzerland and to Germany. The airport consists of two separate parts, a French part and a Swiss part.
You can cross the border between France and Switzerland inside the airport terminal. When arriving choose the exit to Switzerland.
There you can take the bus number 50 to SBB (Train Station, last stop). If you have a hotel in Basel, you don't need to pay for a ticket, as the hotel reservation counts as ticket.

Taxis to the city are not recommended, unless you want to spend CHF 50+ for the ride.

If you arrive at Zurich Airport you can take a train to Basel SBB (approx. 1 hour). The train station is located inside the airport. Once arrived in Basel (Basel SBB) you can take the tramway number 2 to the conference center or the urban train S1 or S3 to Muttenz for the workshops.

Basel is an international rail hub with direct ICE, IC and EC daytime and nighttime connections from Germany, Austria, Italy, France and the Benelux countries.

Basel has 2 train stations: "Badischer Bahnhof" and "Bahnhof SBB".
Trains arriving from Germany always stop at "Badischer Bahnhof" first.
The conference center is very close to "Badischer Bahnhof". If you are arriving for the workshops you should exit "Bahnhof SBB".

Check on the map which train station is more suitable for you (hotel distance etc.).
